Our Story

Kids Love Yoga began around eight years ago, during my time as a primary school teacher. Alongside teaching, I had a strong personal passion for yoga and was curious about how it could support children’s emotional wellbeing in schools — at a time when children’s yoga was rarely seen, particularly in Sheffield.

After training as a children’s yoga teacher, I began introducing yoga and mindfulness into my own classroom. The response from the children was immediate and positive. With the support of my school, I set up an after-school yoga club, which quickly grew in popularity. From there, other schools began asking for yoga sessions, and Kids Love Yoga gradually expanded beyond a single school.

When Covid brought face-to-face work to a halt in 2020, we developed a new way to support schools: Shaping Healthy Minds Online. Designed over two years, the platform was created to be practical, inclusive and realistic for busy school settings, drawing on my experience in teaching, SEND, and wellbeing education.

Alongside this, I later established Shaping Healthy Minds Academy CIC, a charitable organisation focused on reaching children with the greatest need, including those in deprived communities and children with neurodiversities. My background includes a Master’s degree in Special Educational Needs and many years teaching in a special school, where yoga and wellbeing became an integral part of my classroom practice.

Everything we do is shaped by real classroom experience and a belief that all children deserve access to tools that support calm, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.  We look forward to supporting your children with the many benefits of yoga & wellbeing.
